Small samples make conversion comparisons unstable. Begin with clear hypotheses and avoid declaring a winner from a handful of enquiries.

Define a meaningful change

Choose a question such as whether explaining project inputs improves qualified submissions. Set the primary outcome, lead-quality criteria and guardrails before testing. Changing the headline, form and traffic source together makes the result difficult to interpret.

Plan around available evidence

Estimate whether traffic can support a useful comparison within a reasonable period. Keep allocation and tracking consistent. If evidence is insufficient, use usability sessions and enquiry feedback to identify problems rather than treating an underpowered experiment as proof.

Report uncertainty honestly

Review the size of the difference and uncertainty, not just which count is larger. Note campaign changes, seasonality and duplicate leads. An inconclusive result is useful: retain the clearer version or collect more evidence without claiming a demonstrated uplift.
