Navigation should help a visitor find the right information without understanding your internal department structure.

Group by customer questions

List the most common tasks, such as checking a service, seeing an example or contacting the team. Group related pages under labels customers recognise. Avoid vague menu names that sound impressive but do not predict the destination. Keep the most important routes available from any main page.

Design desktop and mobile together

Check whether nested menus remain usable by touch and keyboard. Do not rely on hover alone. Provide clear current-page and breadcrumb context where the hierarchy is deep. Keep contact access visible without allowing floating buttons to cover menu items or form controls.

Run a short finding test

Ask someone unfamiliar with the site to find three realistic pieces of information. Observe their first choice and any backtracking. Rename or regroup based on the problem found. Check every menu link after changes and retain useful URLs even if their menu position changes.
